NASCAR isn't afraid of Christianity. Before every race, a pastor prays over the race. In today's race, the guy starting first, (Joe Nemechek), is being sponsored by the National Day of Prayer today, (so the car says "National Day of Prayer" everywhere- you can't miss it), and his crew chief was urging everyone listening to take part in the NDP. The announcer who was talking to him didn't shut him down or say, "pray in whatever religion you follow" or anything like that to soften the Christianity. Instead, he said, "Well we'll definitely be praying for everyone out on that track today." It was awesome!!

So basically by saying that "we'll definitely be praying" you think that he was asuming that everyone would recognize "praying" as Christianity - not as any other religion that has "praying" in it. Besides that, then sure! NASCAR can be Christian if you want!!
wait, so this guy was getting PAID to drive for national prayer day?!!?!?!?!?!? what?!!?!? shouldn't that money be going to someone else who really needs it?! Okay, you really need to explain this to me.
That's kind of neat. But won't people feel like Nascar is forcing Christianity a little?
probably not. Because this was only one instance. It's not like the guy will have that all over his car every day. Besides, if the national buddist society was supporting NASCAR drivers, don't you think they would plaster it all over their cars?
Amen, Kath!!
okay. Kath, you are a good teller/explainer. And persuadder (even if Josh said you only THINK your good at it.)
